Century Old Family of Natural Handcrafted Soap . A singular women in the history of soap

Century Old Family of Natural Handcrafted Soap On December 25, 1904, Born Santa Lucia Murari Borba,

Santa Lucia was a farmer's daughter from Murari'sBorba.

Borba's come to Brazil on September 20, 1917 disembarked in Sao Paulo, Santos, with one of hundreds of Italian refugees .
More than half a century later, Elis Crismanis (Grand-Daughter) uncovered a box filled with letters.
“Curious in search of the story of my family food recipes.. I found “Soaps Recipes, and I found out . . .
Grandmother's Lucia was a pioneer of New World (Brazil) essential oils from the plants and herbs., those soap recipes found there way to North Carolina when I went back to Brazil for Christmas and asked grandmother for food recipes to bring back to NC.
After years of making soap for her 13 children,

Santa Lucia family finally convinced her to open a small soap shop in Sao Paulo Brazil where she made soaps with her family for 25 years, While looking through boxes of recipes we came across all her old soap and essential oil recipes.

I was overcome with a desire to fit together the pieces of this Italian story of the artisan soap made from scratch. ” Santa Lucia’s Natural Handcrafted Soap story is emblematic ,of rustic and modern artisan on both sides of the Atlantic between the 1900's and Now! That re frames a century artisan history. A singular women in the history of soaps

Natural Handcrafted Soap Company

Fresh, Natural, Healthy

What do you get when you combine a chef and a naturalist? No, it's not a trick question. The result is beautifully handcrafted soap from Natural Handcrafted Soap, a Raleigh, N.C.-based company. "Making soap is a lot like cooking," Nick, co-owner of Natural Handcrafted Soap, explains. "It requires blending ingredients and getting just the right balance."

Nick's partner, who hails from Brazil, was handed down recipes from her grandmother that included natural ingredients from the rain forest for soaps that really make a difference on one's skin

Our handmade/ handcrafted soaps are formulated to deliver the very best in skin care while using only safe, truly natural ingredients. We never use harmful synthetic chemicals, preservatives, artificial dyes, or synthetic fragrance oils .
All of our soaps are made in small batches to ensure the quality of each batch. We hand stir, hand cut and hand wrap every bar. We even make our own wrapper. Every bar is given a long cure period so that when it reaches you it is mild and ready to use..
Our soap is scented naturally with only luxurious essential oils or absolutes extracted from natural plant sources for skin healing benefits; we also add herbs, butters, spices and natural botanical s for exfoliating texture and natural coloring. Each bar of natural soap is hand-cut and hand packed.

Our soaps are made the old-fashioned way. They are handcrafted using natural organic unrefined ingredients and include pure organic therapeutic essential oils and organic botanical's. Our organic unrefined extra virgin olive oil base is shipped directly from a family's olive farm in Greece .. We use the "cold processing" method called Saponification and do not add heat or chemicals to the soap pots. This process produces natural glycerin, which is a by-product of the soap making process. We only use the highest Quality organic therapeutic grade essential oils Unlike most soap company's on the market today, we do not remove this glycerin from our soap because it is a humectant. This helps moisture the skin and can be gentle enough for even the driest and most sensitive of skin. We do not add preservatives, colorants or fragrance oils to our products. Our soap is made with your skincare - no harmful synthetics, just pure ingredients straight from nature.
Glycerin is naturally produced during the soap making process. In fact, pound for pound, glycerin costs more than soap, which is why most soap companies remove the glycerin from the soap and sell it to manufacturers of lotion. We do not remove the glycerin from our handcrafted soap, so when you purchase soap made by us, it contains all of the naturally occurring glycerin. With our handcrafted soap you get a fabulous cleanser and a moisturizer all in one, which was created for top moisturizing ability.Using commercial soaps over time leave your skin dried out, or way to oily ,and feeling like its never clean. Natural handmade soap, that only uses natural ingredients, can restore the moisture to your skin, while still getting you clean. You will be amazed at the difference! Handmade Soap is soap in its true, pure form. It gently cleanses away excess oils and bacteria, but doesn't strip your skin of its natural oils. Why you may ask, should I buy handmade soap when I can get more soap for less money at the grocery store? Generally, the commercial soaps carried at most chain stores, etc. are full of chemical additives, additives that not only dry out your skin but can lead to rashes and other irritations. This is not only because of the synthetic additives in the soap but also because most soap companies take the glycerin out of their soap. The commercial soap bars that line most grocery stores’ shelves are actually synthetic detergents. While that's great for your dishes, it's not very good for your skin.
